The new Almac Jibbi 1670 Evo

Almac will this week launch a new 16-metre self-propelled boomlift with crawler drive, automatic levelling and a host of technical innovations, the 1670 Evo.

The new telescopic boom lift will be unveiled in a series of virtual events on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week at Almac's factory in Viadana, Italy, and these will be streamed on the company's social media platforms. Details can be found below.

The Jibbi 1670 Evo has a three-section telescopic boom plus jib and offers a working height of 16 metres and a reach of 6.7 to 8.5 metres. 6.7 metres is the maximum basket load of 250 kilograms, while the maximum possible reach of 8.5 metres is only available with a reduced basket load of 80 kilograms, depending on the selected track width and slewing position. The platform can also be moved to working heights of up to nine metres.

The new model features a new variable track width in the undercarriage, which allows the operator to extend the width of the machine from 1.35 to 1.90 metres, 2.20 metres or 2.45 metres to enable a range of configurations for different application scenarios - from operations in narrow aisles or corridors to maximum all-round stability on slopes.

Like the company's three Jibbi-1250 models in the JT series, the 1670 Evo features automatic, dynamic, 'proactive' levelling, which allows the machine to travel at height on slopes or uneven ground with gradients of up to 22 degrees (40 per cent) while keeping the platform level at all times. The total weight of the machine is 3,850 kilograms, with a maximum ground pressure of 3.1 kN/m² or 316 kilograms per square metre (0.5 psi).

A new radio remote control with the My Almac Control Panel telematics system continuously monitors the machine's operating status and allows the operator to interact with the machine remotely and change its operating parameters. The machine is powered by a 3-cylinder diesel engine from Yanmar.

In transport position, the overall width is 1.35 metres, the height is 1.99 metres and the overall length is 5.17 metres, whereby the workman basket can be easily removed, reducing the length to 4.40 metres. The standard 1.40 metre wide basket can also be replaced by a larger 1.80 metre wide platform; both offer 140 degree basket rotation (70 degrees in both directions). An ultrasonic operator protection system in combination with a downward and upward anti-trap function are standard features. The Series 200 winch kit, which can be used to convert the stage into a mini crawler crane, is available as an option.

The three live events, including demonstrations and presentations, will take place on Tuesday 9 June at 13:30, Wednesday 10 June at 16:30 and Thursday 11 June at 8:30 (CET). These are the days on which APEX was originally scheduled to take place.
